In Issue 4 , of Epidemiological Review  we recommend articles in the sections  "Problems of infections" and "Public Health", including an article on the problems of identification and registration of cases of rubella in Poland after  the compensating epidemic  in 2013.

Another article in the section gives an assessment of the prevalence of helminthic  infections among residents of eastern Afghanistan in the context of the recommended by WHO preventive anti- parasitic treatment. High prevalence and a large variety of infections prompt the author to question the justification of preventive treatment preferred by the WHO.

Primary and recurrent rose (erysipelas) is an infectious disease rarely mentioned. It is caused by Streptococcus pyogenes. Cases of the rose in the years 2011-2015 are presented and discussed by the authors from the Department of Dermatology and Venereology Medical University of Bialystok.

Authors from the same Department, in collaboration with the WHO Collaborating Centre for Gonorrhoea and other STIs, discuss the rare case of late parenchymal CNS syphilis in the form of progressive paralysis.

In the section "Public Health" it is published an article presenting the impact of the heat wave in 2008-2013 on mortality od the inhabitants of Warsaw. We invite you to read.
